The Tibetan word "rigs" refers to a genus, the family of Gentianaceae. These plants are regarded as generally beneficial for bile disorders.
Still, certain species are attributed with special qualities and can have special names in Tibetan. Like Gentiana tianshanica, which is called kyi lce nag po, black dog's tongue and which is used in sudden swellings in body and throat.
